The wattage noted below for each appliance is approximate only; please
refer to the specific tool or appliance for exact wattage or purchase a
watt meter.

You can also figure out the wattage of an appliance by multiplying the
number of amps stated on the appliance label by 120 (volts). Amps x
Volts = Watts

Generator Sizing Example
Use the example in the chart below as a guide to help you determine
which size generator best fits your needs.

1. Make a list of each appliance you want to run and enter the running
watts and surge watts beside each appliance.

2. Total up the running watts of all the appliances. Add to this the
highest appliance surge wattage number - the appliance makes no
difference. Choose a generator with a surge watt rating at or above the
grand total from your worksheet (5180 in the example).
